This is the rare surviving original artwork for the 1964 comedy starring Anthony Quinnn, "Zorba The Greek". The artwork on artboard measures 21"x 28" approx. The colours remain bold & vibrant & certainly more powerful than the proof Quad we have in the collection (shown here for comparison). This is an interesting example of Chantrell's versatility as an artist as the style here is not immediately recognisable as his own. Obviously whilst Chantrell collectors are used to typical photographic quality Chantrell illustrations, most are aware that Chantrell had plenty of stylistic approaches in his locker which he could call upon when needed, this impressionistic "canvas" being one such example.
