Young Girls of Rochefort Chantrell Artwork 1967

This is a well-finished prototype piece of artwork (20"x 27" overall approx) for the 1967 French rom-com musical "The Young Girls of Rochefort". The artwork is applied to artboard, Chantrell setting the design against the background of the French flag & the typography being very contemporary (Chantrell using his "trademark" day-glo). The figures of the girls are painted/drawn cut-outs which have been applied to the artboard. Originally a black border would have "framed" the piece but this has become detached.

It is not known if this design made it into print as the Quad poster as we have been unable to track down an example of the finished Quad (if anyone has an image we can use we'll happily credit you here).

NB. Due to the size of this piece, a supplementary P&P charge will be required or alternatively, the artwork can be collected in person by appointment.
