More about this item:
One of several artwork roughs (20"x 27") Chantrell created for the film, this one relying heavily on a plaudit quote from doyen of 1970's film critics, Alexander Walker. Chantrell was clearly still "feeling" his way toward a final design as comparison with the finished Quad poster (image courtesy of www.moviepostermem) shows. The inspiration for the image of Jenny Agutter running with her young brother in hand came to Chantrell whilst walking on Box Hill with his wife Shirley. Tom saw a family with a young child & asked if he could take a reference photo of Shirley running down the hill with the child & it is this image that he used in forming the final poster design.
