An original Chantrell prototype piece of artwork (20"x 27") for the UK Quad poster for this superb Nicolas Roeg Australian film. Though the design is different to that which Chantrell finally created for the poster, the elemental nature of the illustration, dwelling on the enormity of the sun & mother nature, is already clearly present (the Quad poster shown courtesy of www.moviepostermem.com). This large piece consists of painted & pencil artwork on tracing paper, with a hand-painted Chantrell title script above & rough credits text added by Chantrell below. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Chantrell could not only design & illustrate his own posters but he also contributed lettering, title formats & often tag-lines too!
