Two "The Avengers" 1968 Annual book cover "printer's proofs" designed & illustrated by Chantrell (Chantrell would have been provided with these proofs in order to check & authorise the colour balance & overall quality of the printing).
Based on the successful TV series (1961-69) the covers show John Steed (played by Patrick Macnee) & Tara King (Linda Thorson) & carry Chantrell's printed signature along the bottom. The larger measures 8 7/8" x 11 1/2" & the smaller has been mounted onto Legion artboard by Chantrell. Both items would frame to excellent effect.
