Three pieces of prototype Chantrell artwork (all 14"x 20" approx) for the UK 1-sheet of "Great Expectations" (1974). Chantrell normally nailed his brief very quickly but for whatever reason he took several attempts to hone an acceptable design for this poster (this could just have been due to his quest for perfection rather than any outside interference). Irrespective, these 3 pieces, provide a fascinating insight into Chantrell's design process. All artworks remain in very good condition, being hand-coloured sketches with annotations on cartridge paper laid to card.
