More about this item:

Finished Video cover artwork (15 1/2"x 23 1/2") by Chantrell for "The Spy In Black" (1939), the WWII espionage thriller. The film was the first collaboration between director Michael Powell & scriptwriter Emeric Pressburger. Chantrell's artwork dates c' 1989 & shows the leads (Conrad Veidt & Valerie Hobson) against a background of nautical warfare. Please see below for an image of the actual video cover (text would have been applied later on an overlay).

The artwork (gouache) has been applied to "Daler" artboard. Chantrell chose a suitable gothic script for the title & this printed cut-out has been affixed on top of the artwork. The whole piece has been housed in a paper "frame" to better highlight the artwork with a tracing paper overlay on top.
