A fascinating "rough" (aka "layout") for this 1973 Tigon sex-comedy. After receiving basic instructions for a commission, artists would create a rough for approval. Quite often, roughs were re-worked several times before finished artwork was sanctioned but in Chantrell's case his roughs bear a strong correlation to the finished Quad, this being a good example. The piece has been composed on tracing paper laid to light card with a protective card overlay & measures 15"x 21" approx. Chantrell has added a couple of pencil annotations including "1/4 up" & placing an "X" certificate just after the film title.
