More about this item:

A really fascinating piece of original Chantrell artwork (20"x 27"), this being an early painted prototype design for the classic WWII film, "The Longest Day". Though the finished Quad poster (see below) is quite different in appearance, certain key components are already apparent in this early design: the "viewfinder" outlook on the invading fleet, the font for the title script & the illustration of an upturned helmet on the D-Day beach. This piece acts as another reminder of just how good Chantrell was at "nailing" the brief either straight away or (normally) by the 2nd prototype. The text is carried by an acetate overlay.

Given the size of this piece, a supplementary P&P charge will be required or otherwise it can be collected by arrangement.
