The Idol Chantrell Quad Poster Artwork 1966

This is Chantrell's finished artwork (18"x 20") for the Quad poster for "The Idol" (1966). Starring Michael Parks & Jennifer Jones, this British made film studied the corrosive effect of an arrogant lothario (Parks) on the women he comes into contact with. The artwork presents Parks looking particularly lascivious, surrounded by painted cut-out images of his adoring women. The painted artwork has all been laid to artboard but it appears as if Chantrell has discarded the rest of the Quad composition (as this was essentially just title/cast/credits text which would have been placed onto an acetate overlay, this is perhaps understandable).
