The Fox Chantrell Quad Artwork 1967

Finished painted Chantrell artwork (15"x 27") for the Quad poster for the 1967 drama "The Fox" (see image of printed Quad for reference). The cast/credits/title text would have been carried on an acetate overlay. Based on the novel by DH Lawrence the theme of sexual tension is made clear by Chantrell's painted illustration. Chantrell signed this artwork but the Quad poster omitted this signature (distributors were not always keen to promote the names of their poster artists). A fine example of chantrell's artistry.

The artwork consists of four gouache painted card panels applied to day-glo painted artboard. Minor rim damage but artwork unaffected.
