The Damned Chantrell Concept Poster Artwork 1969

A large photographic concept artwork (20 3/4"x 27 3/4") for the Quad poster for Visconti's 1930's Nazi-era drama. Although Chantrell is best-known for his painted compositions he was equally at home creating photograpohic designs such as this. The centrepiece of the concept is a swastika shape presenting tinted photos of the main cast.

The artwork is laid to board & consists of a b/w photo negative image adjacent to the swastika design which is mounted on day-glo card. Most of the text is printed on strips though the text "Luchino Visconti's" and "Warners" info bottom right, has been appended by hand by Chantrell.

This concept was unused (please see an example of the printed Quad below).
