The Brood Chantrell Artwork 1979

Chantrell's commission to create a Quad poster for the David Cronenberg film "The Brood", paid just £200 in 1979 & for this Chantrell created two roughs as well as the finished artwork. Here we have the second of the roughs which was unused, even though arguably it presents a far more eerie & threatening image than that on the printed Quad (see below for comparison). The artwork is painted onto artboard (19"x 25") & there is an acetate overlay carrying the film title. The images here do not do justice to what is a stunning piece of Chantrell artistry. The print run for "The Brood" was 2,000 (W)
