Chantrell's original "rough" (16"x 21") for this 1978 double-bill Quad poster. As comparison with the finished Quad shows, Chantrell's initial conceptual design "nailed" the brief. It was Chantrell's ability to quickly grasp what was required, present an acceptable prototype (rough) & then translate this into attractive (& commercially effective) finished art, that made him such a popular choice with commissioning agents (W).
