A beautiful unfolded proof copy of the Chantrell Quad for "The Agony & The Ecstasy", the 1965 biopic about Michaelangelo. Another typical Chantrell piece: the faces of the leads possessing an almost photographic quality & the rest of the poster packed with colour & a great sense of movement. This is a slightly unusual poster design in that Chantrell eschews the normal surrounding "rim", taking the artwork right up to the limit of the border (this gives the impression that the poster has been cropped but this is not the case). There are two 2" conservation tear repairs (left & lower borders) & several small edge nicks but otherwise the poster remains in great display condition.
