An original "Star Wars" (1977) Special Screening invitation (3 1/2"x 8 1/4") which was issued to Tom Chantrell for a special viewing of the film 20th July '77.

The invitation presents the Hildebrandt "Star Wars" imagery which is significant as the producers wanted a different poster campaign in the UK & Chantrell's invitation to the screening was designed to give him a point of reference - the resultant "Style-C" Quad was the end result, this being one of the most instantly recognisable movie poster images of the 20th Century. The film premiered in London & opened simultaneously on 27th Dec 1977 at both the Leicester Square Theatre & at the Dominion, Tottenham Court Road where the Chantrell family enjoyed their VIP advance preview 6 months before!
