An original 8"x 10" b/w Photo Still given to Chantrell with other similar pieces to help in his design & illustration of the iconic "Star Wars" Quad Poster (this looks to be an on-set staged Photo rather than a shot from the film). The Poster commission was switched to Chantrell by the "Star Wars" Producers who wanted a more "human" element on the Poster (the previous Hildebrandt design being deemed too impersonal). Chantrell spent far more time on this piece of work than most other Posters & the final outcome is now arguably his most famous Poster design. For more detailed information about the "Star Wars" commission, please see Sim Branaghan's book "British Film posters" (2006). The Still remains in EX condition & has a simple pencil notation "K15" to the reverse. The buyer of this piece will receive written acknowledgement that it has come directly from the Chantrell archive.
