Star Crash Chantrell Quad Artwork 1978

This is the Chantrell rough artwork (16"x 22" approx) for the 1978 Italian B-movie scifi film "Star Crash", starring the likes of Caroline Munro & Christopher Plummer. Clearly rushed out on the coat-tails of "Star Wars", the print run for the Quad poster (image courtesy of www.moviepostermem.com) was limited & as such it is quite a difficult poster to find. As usual, Chantrell's rough & the printed Quad are very close matches. The Quad is sometimes attributed to the American artist John Solie but as the attached image of Solie's artwork for the US 1-Sheet (image courtesy of emovieposter.com) shows, this is very different to the UK Quad illustration. Chantrell was paid £270 for the rough & finished art for this poster (W).
