Original Chantrell finished Video cover artwork (15 1/2"x 24 1/2") for the 1936 biopic "Rembrandt" (1936) starring Charles Laughton & Gertrude Lawrence, this artwork believed to date c' 1987-90. This would have been an interesting job for Chantrell. Like many commercial artists, Chantrell did not initially rate or retain his own artwork. It was not until Chantrell met his future wife Shirley in 1961 that he was persuaded to start keeping his finished art. Having later taken a leap of faith in turning freelance in 1973, Chantrell developed a highly successful career as an independent artist & indeed his most famous work ("Star Wars") dates from this later period.

The artwork is gouache on "Daler" artboard with a paper rim mount, printed title script, a protective paper overlay & signed by Chantrell. An artwork which depicts one of the world's best ever fine artists painted by one of Britain's foremost 20th century commercial artists!
