One of the last pieces of original Hammer artwork in the Chantrell archive, this is the finished painted artwork for the 1966 Hammer film "Rasputin The Mad Monk" (1966). Chantrell obviously liked this one as he had it framed hanging in his house. It is still framed & the artwork measures 15 3/4"x 23 1/2". Curiously, the debut UK Quad featured a two-tone black/green version of this artwork & the small action scene in the foreground was completely removed (presumably because of the rape scene). Improved colour was used on the later double-bill of "Rasputin The Mad Monk & The Reptile" (the re-release double-bill shown courtesy of www.hammerhorrorposters.weebly.com). The art is on artboard & the figures to the left have been painted & then overlaid.

NB. Owing to the size of this item, it will have to be collected or otherwise it will be sent once removed from the frame & a supplementary P&P charge will be required.
