Demonstrating again his versatility in terms of artistic design, here is the finished Chantrell artwork (20"x 26") for the Quad poster for the 1968 drama "Rachel, Rachel". The artwork consists of a series of tinted photographs overlaid to create this hypnotic effect. Strangely, Chantrell signed this piece (bottom right of the photo montage) but his signature does not appear on the printed Quad poster (image courtesy of www.moviepostermem.com). "Cool Hand.." did rather well with this, his directorial debut: the film garnered 4 Oscar nominations including "Best Picture", "Actress", "Supporting Actress" & "Screenplay".
