On The Buses Hammer Chantrell Flyer 1971

Chantrell is known as Hammer's UK poster artist of choice 1965-70 but during this period (& for several years thereafter), Hammer employed Chantrell in two other roles. One was to create exciting concept artwork for planned films which was used in financing pitches to try & entice financiers to fund these future film projects (we have some examples on this site ie, "Stones of Evil"). Hammer also used Chantrell to produce marketing flyers etc, to assist their pre-production marketing campaigns, such as this for "On The Buses".

Putzu was commissioned to produce a Quad poster for "On The Buses" but this flyer is by Chantrell (note his signature bottom left corner). This particular flyer is a "proof" copy printed on thicker paper stock & subsequently mounted onto light card & measures 10"x 13" overall. It has a few creases but obviously was kept by Chantrell for reference.
