Chantrell’s poster for the cult Steve McQueen film “On Any Sunday” (1971) was somewhat constrained, given the limitations of the budget for this Tigon promotion. Clearly Chantrell was frustrated by the finished product. Later in his life, Chantrell sold a few posters & pieces of artwork privately. Chantrell told one prospective buyer of an “On Any Sunday” Quad that he would make some “modifications” to the printed poster to bring it up to standard. The lucky recipient was later to find that Chantrell had completed in paint a full colour image of McQueen in the bottom right corner thus giving him a unique poster/artwork hybrid! We include an image of the “un-modified” Quad poster for comparison.
