Original Chantrell concept artwork (15 3/4"x 21") for the British comedy "Nothing But The Best" (1964).

This is an intersting piece demonstrating Chantrell's willingness occasionally to introduce photographic elements into his painted designs. Alongside the superb painted illustration of Alan Bates, Chantrell photographed a silver salver & further superimposed photos of Millcent Martin & Bates onto this. Apparently, a colleague of Chantrell's was dispatched to a neighbouring jewellers to borrow the salver for the job!

The painted artwork appears to be watercolour with pastel highlights on card. the lettering is all hand-painted. We are not sure if this design was ever used (see below for the Quad poster for the film).
