A relatively early Chantrell illustration, this dating from 1957. The film was a drama about the marital difficulties facing 4 linked couples. Though tame by contemporary standards, such "adult" themes necessitated an "X" certification, the "Adults Only" stipulation probably appended by Chantrell to exloit the supposedly risque allure of the film. The purple backdrop & louche central imagery work well together & complete the picture of "adult naughtiness". The poster is an unfolded Chantrell proof copy. It would be graded "EX" were it not for minor edge damage to the outer white rim & a slight area of water damage to the lower left corner.
