More about this item:

Demonstrating his versatility, Chantrell produced two very different designs for this Hammer film, a conventional piece for the Style-A Quad & this highly distinctive pop-art version for the Style-B Quad.

The film was clearly inspired by the success of Kubricks "2001 A Space Odyssey" (1968) & the successful Apollo mission to put man on the moon in 1969. However, in inimitable style, Hammer's response was to produce the "first Space Western". This low-budget film was not a great commercial success & hence the print run for this Hammer title was not particularly large. Of the two versions of this poster, the cartoon style is the rarest. When this poster does appear, it normally comes with "ABC" over-printing at either the top or the bottom but this Chantrell "proof" reflects exactly the original artwork.

This poster is in rare unfolded form. There are various conservation repairs to the bottom edge but overall the poster remains in excellent condition. A real rarity for any Chantrell or Hammer collector.
