More about this item:

A Poster that clearly shows Chantrell's brushwork from the original art.  Dating from the early period of Chantrell's freelance career, the Poster was designed for the unlikely combination of a Strindberg Play, the Royal Shakespeare Company & Tony Tensor's Tigon Films (better known for their sexploitation work).  The fact that the film was basically a replication of the RSC's recent critically acclaimed stage production & thus not overly costly to cast or film, will have appealed to Tigon.  Though Helen Mirren was one of the RSC's rising stars at the time & indeed had already appeared in several films, her role in "Miss julie" was to bring her to a wider audience & help pave the way to her ascent to global stardom.  In 1999 Mike Figgis was to re-make the film, with Saffron Burrows in the lead role.  This Poster is an unfolded Chantrell proof in near Mint condition.
