Kevin Keegan Chantrell Artwork and Poster 1980

In 1980, the footballer Kevin Keegan collaborated with Marlborough Prints to issue a Limited Edition of 1,000 prints showing Keegan in England strip, which Keegan was then meant to sign. Tom Chantrell was commissioned to create the artwork for the print but unfortunately, Marlborough Prints folded & Tom never got paid. What we have here is the original artwork mounted on card with a protective tissue overlay (22"x 30" overall). In the later stage of his life, Tom Chantrell began to catalogue some of his work, including this piece & on the tissue overlay he has written the story concerning the artwork in pencil. Also included in the sale is Chantrell's proof copy of the finished print (NOT signed by Keegan) which measures 16 1/2"x 22" & which is entitled as follows: "Kevin Keegan, European Footballer of the Year 1978 & 1979 by Tom Chantrell". A great piece of Keegan memorabilia & a superlative piece of original watercolour artwork by Chantrell.
