Hot Tubs Chantrell Artwork 1984

This is the original painted artwork (23"x 24") for this 1984 American sex-comedy. Chantrell's sense of humour & aptitude for painting comely maidens comes to the fore in this really colourful piece. During much of his career (& particularly when freelance from 1971) Chantrell not only designed his posters & produced the finished artwork but he also contributed succinct tag-lines such as the "Getting Into Hot Water.." text here.

The artwork has been laid to artboard with an acetate overlay (as shown) & a further paper cover with additional instructions for the printer. Chantrell was paid £460 for this & the 2 roughs he completed & the print run for the Quad was 3,000. For the purpose of comparison we show an example of the finished Quad too. Relatively little of Chantrell's sexploitation artwork has survived & this is one of the best examples of this genre (W).
