A superlative piece of Chantrell painted artwork (24"x 33") for the 1988 video release of "The Horse Soldiers", the 1959 western starring John Wayne & William Holden. This is the finished artwork & was used as the attached image shows (image courtesy of the videocollector.co.uk). Although a relatively late Chantrell piece, the artist's design flair is well evident, Chantrell delivering a composition that is full of dynamism & excitement.

The main part of the painting (gouache) is on a single piece of card which has been affixed to a further large black backed card (the tassles on the left have been painted directly onto the black card). There is an acetate overlay but this is blank. There is a small crease to bottom right corner.
