Hands of the Ripper Hammer Flyer 1971

An original single-sided Hammer promotional flyer (8 1/2"x 11") for the film "Hands of the Ripper". Designed & painted by Chantrell, this leaflet would have been used in pre-production to hype the film & entice potential financiers. The explicit nature of the design would never have been allowed on a poster format for public consumption. The cut-throat wielding girl looks remarkably like Sally Thomsett though the likeness was based on a model posing for Chantrell (see below), the film probably not cast at the time he created this artwork.

Small nick to top edge, otherwise in Excellent condition.

The finished Quad poster for the film by Mike Vaughan (image courtesy of www.moviepostermem.com) was similarly gory but necessarily less sexually explicit.
