More about this item:
A really fascinating piece of Hammmer/Chantrell memorabilia, this being a bespoke "programme" for a tribute lunch for Kenneth Hyman (VP of Warner Bros-Seven Arts) hosted by Hammer Films, at the Savoy Hotel, London, 11th Oct 1968. Apart from the menu itself, this Chantrell designed brochure contains 4 photographic negatives of Chantrell's poster artwork for Hammer, namely "Dracula Has Risen From The Grave", "When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth", "Moon Zero Two" & "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed". Each negative can be seen against a day-glo card which brings the artwork to life & each is separated by a plastic page.
Chantrell was not only Hammer's effective in-house poster artist 1965-70 but he also worked on various other bespoke Hammer commissions, either for other forms of marketing material or (as here) working on initiatives to help court sources of finance to fund prospective films. This is a rare & very unusual piece of Hammer memorabilia.
