Chantrell's poster for the 1962 film about the stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. This design incorporates a montage of colour tinted photos with a painted illustration of "Gypsy" (played by Nathalie Wood) superimposed over the centre. The net effect is a brilliantly colourful evocation of the early days of burlesque. The poster is a Chantrell proof copy with a single vertical fold-line only. There is some light creasing & a couple of edge tears (repaired to reverse with conservation tape), longest being 1".
