More about this item:

A really unusual prototype composition (16 1/2"x 21") for the Hammer Film "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" (1969). The composition consists of b/w cut-out photos of Chantrell artwork which have been pasted onto artboard with subsequent hand-painted additions (especially to Peter Cushing). The background has also been painted in. To the upper & lower rim are strips of text including the "fractured" title script.

As comparison with the printed Quad shows, this composition is an early prototype. The fact that "Frankenstein" looks nothing like he does in the film, suggests this piece was a pre-production creation (ie, destined as an artwork or marketing brochure to help Hammer secure funding for the film). An important original piece of Chantrell/Hammer memorabilia.

NB. A supplementary P&P charge will be required for overseas buyers.
