An original Chantrell artwork (15"x 18") for “The Face of Fu Manchu” (1965). This was the first in the series of 4 Fu Manchu films, all starring Christopher Lee & all illustrated by Chantrell:

An interesting piece of design work & although a prototype, this is in highly “finished” form & bears an almost exact likeness to the design on the printed Quad (see attached). Chantrell was obviously pleased with this work as it is a piece that he signed. The artwork is a mixture of paint & pen work & has been applied directly to the artboard. There is a blank paper overlay attached.

We believe this is the ONLY piece of Fu Manchu Chantrell art that has survived (nice that it’s the first too). A great memento of one of the world’s greatest horror genre actors & a fabulous piece of Chantrell artwork.
