More about this item:

A fabulous piece of exploitation illustration by Chantrell, this being a triple-bill "Emanuelle" sex-fest c' 1981-82. Chantrell's ability to create sexy tongue-in-cheek imagery came to the fore with this genre of sex films that became popular in the 1970's & early 80's until the rise of video effectively killed off the market.

The first "Emmanuelle" film starring Sylvia Kristel in 1974, conferred a certain respectability to soft-porn movies. Ms Kristel starred in several sequels but the name "Emmanuelle" was picked up & used by a variety of film-makers who wished to cash-in on the market. This triple-bill is one such example, the UK made "Emmanuelle in Soho" being sandwiched between the 1980 Italian film "Emanuelle Queen Bitch" (starring Laura Gemser) & a 1973 West German sex film given an anglisised title "Emanuelle Meets the Wife Swappers" (though this film didn't even feature a character called Emanuelle !!). Irrespective, the poster is a wonderful example of Chantrell's sense of the commercial, the appeal to the sex-starved youth of Britain being fairly obvious here.

The poster here is a Chantrell proof copy, in near mint unfolded condition. Only 1,000 of these posters were printed & Chantrell received a fee of £500 for this particular commission.
