Dracula Has Risen Rare Double-Bill Poster 1968

This is a rare piece of Chantrell-Hammer memorabilia being the "Hammer" part of the double-bill UK Quad poster for "Dracula Has Risen From The Grave" (1968) & "A Covenant With Death" (1967). Chantrell cut-out his "Dracula Has Risen.." part of the poster & displayed this piece in his work studio.

The duo-tone colour scheme & double-bill format would normally suggest that this poster was a re-release but the double-bill poster was printed alongside the more common stand-alone Quads (see below) for the first release of the film (this slightly unusual practice was something Hammer did from time-to-time). However, the double-bill Quad is extremely rare & we have never seen one, complete or otherwise, before. It is possible that the colour scheme for this poster was the inspiration behind Chantrell's later Hammer Quad for "The Satanic Rites of Dracula" (1974).

The poster "part" measures 26"x 30" & has tape marks, corner damage & edge nicks (these all caused when the poster was displayed at Chantrell's workplace). It is a pity the poster didn't survive in it's entirety but Chantrell simply wanted to use the poster for decoration. A fascinating item. (mc)
