This is one of 4 prototype pieces of artwork (17"x 23" overall) Chantrell produced for this classic Visconti film. Although the illustration of Bogarde mimics the photographic pose on the final Quad poster, it is not believed that Chantrell was responsible for the finished poster (though it is likely that his roughs influenced the final design). The artwork is mixed media (pen & paint) & has been affixed to black card. Chantrell uses the relections of the boy in Bogarde's glasses in this design. Chantrell has signed his name along the bottom rim.
