Though known primarily as a poster artist, much of Chantrell's early career in the 1930's- 40's through to the early 1950's, was spent producing technical drawings & magazine advertising illustrations. Here we have 3 examples of the "Percival Prince" aircraft taken from Chantrell's own show portfolio, two annotated in Chantrell's hand indicating that the drawings were done from blueprints before the plane was actually constructed. Each page measures 10 1/2"x 14 1/2" approx. One shows a UK advertisement, one is in arabic (presumably targeting potential middle east sales) & the 3rd shows 2 photos of Chantrell's original artwork. Dating from 1947, these are early examples of Chantrell's work.
