More about this item:

Chantrell painted artwork (14 3/4"x 21 1/2") for the Synopsis for the little-known film "Butch Berring and The Kung Fu Kid" (1974).

Filmed in Taiwan, this was clearly a Kung Fu spoof of "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid" (also described as "A Chinese western with Brazilian music") but it appears as if the film had no UK cinema release (it was finally released on video in 1981 re-titled "The Canton Cowboy"). Although the western character on the artwork looks like Ryan O'Neal, he was actually an American actor, Jimmy Shaw, who was based in the Far East in the 1970's (the Chinese character is named as Shan-Chau Lee). A seriously obscure film which has taken a long time to identify (thanks to Sim Branaghan for co-sleuthing).

The artwork is all gouache on artboard with a Chantrell hand-written annotation to the upper. The artwwork is sold with the 4-page Synopsis (small cut-out to back cover).
