More about this item:
Chantrell's original finished Quad poster artwork for the 1974 rock musical "Catch My Soul". The piece consists of painted artwork with superimposed lettering & a burst of stars! Loosely based on the Shakespeare story of "Othello", the film starred musician Richie Havens & also featured Delaney & Bonnie. The film was directed by Patrick McGoohan, his one & only attempt from the director's chair!
"Catch My Soul" was the brainchild of producer/writer Jack Good & started life as a theatrical production in 1968. Jack Good had a fascinating & influential career in the world of popular music. He created the teen music shows "Six-Five Special" for the BBC (1957-58) & "Oh Boy" for ITV (1958-59). Various TV specials followed. Good was one of only a few TV impressarios who successfully translated to America, his show "Shindig" (1964-65) establishing him as a major figure there. He provided the screenplay for "Catch My Soul" & also co-produced.
