Chantrell concept artwork (17 3/4"x 20 1/2") for the 1974 re-make of "Brief Encounter" starring Richard Burton & Sophia Loren.
This is a really interesting piece of Chantrell artwork being one of several concept pieces Chantrell created for the film (this being a progression on this design: http://www.chantrellposter.com/Chantrell-Burton-Loren-Brief-Encounter-Artwork-1974-Original/1077). The artwork is composed of pastels, giving it a striking rendition. Although pastels was a medium Chantrell used before, it is certainly one of the scarcer media types he employed. Also, we have been unable to locate a finished Quad title for this film (though an alternative Chantrell composition was used for the UK 1 & 3-Sheet posters).
The artwork is on paper fixed to card with a paper cover sheet.
