Original Chantrell artwork for the magazine cover of the "Complete Bestsellers" series for "A Murder of Quality" 1982. The painted artwork (13"x 18") is on artboard with the original text acetate overlay still in place. As can be seen, the printed magazine (shown here for reference) was amended... possibly because Chantrell's original imagery (dripping blood & screaming girl) were too strong ? The dripping blood motif was used most memorably by Chantrell in his Hammer design for "Taste The Blood of Dracula" (1970) & the image of the screaming girl is a stock Chantrell device ie, "Quatermass & The Pitt" 1967). Given the overall size (15"x 19") & value of this item, a separate shipping quote will be required.
