A Majority of One Chantrell Quad Poster Artwork 1962

The key element of the "finished" Chantrell Quad poster artwork (15"x 21") for the comedy set in Japan "A Majority of One" (1962). The film starred Alec Guinness as a Japanese businessman & Rosalind Russell, both faithfully depicted in Chantrell's artwork (see below for an image of the printed Quad).

We are unsure why Chantrell trimmed the original artwork. This may have been done when Chantrell turned freelance in 1973 as various artworks were then cut down in size to create a portfolio of "samples" that Chantrell thought would be required to help him secure business (in the event this proved unnecessary as Chantrell was in constant demand).

The artwork is gouache on "Daler" artboard with black card strips added to create the impression of a screen.
