Original Chantrell painted artwork (16 1/2"x 21 1/2") for the "A Farewll To Arms" (1957), the wartime drama starring Rock Hudson & Jennifer Jones.

We believe this is the finished artwork for the UK Double-Crown poster (maybe missing a little of the cast/credits paste-on information). We have not seen a VHS cover with this design & comparison with Chantrell's 1957 Quad shows many similarities. Equally the "Cinemascope" & "20th Century-Fox" script is identical to that on the '57 Quad. Chantrell was obviously pleased with the piece as he signed it (he had the Quad artwork framed & hanging in the family home for many years). The artwork is gouache on card mounted on Daler artboard, with painted cut-outs & printed lettering added.
